The ideal introduction to search engine marketing (SEM), this part-time course will prepare you to pass the Google AdWords Fundamentals exam. If you are curious about how Google AdWords works, or if you manage people who run AdWords campaigns for your organization (employees or contractors), this course will teach you how to effectively manage this powerful tool. As with all of our courses, you will run real ads for your organization or a local partner organization.

Learning Objectives:

  • Conduct Keyword Research – leverage the Keyword Planner tool in Google AdWords to create effective groupings and campaigns.
  • Write Compelling Ads – learn how to write ads with a high quality score (QS), A/B test your ad copy, and leverage multiple ad extensions to take up more space on the search results.
  • Manage a Real Advertising Budget – learn multiple bidding strategies and methods, use geographic targeting to optimize reach and keep campaigns under budget.
  • Track Conversions – utilize Google Analytics to track leads, sales, and other types of conversions (web forms, video views, phone calls, etc).

Already familiar with AdWords but need to take your skills to the next level? This course is for you. We limit enrollment to 2-3 students in this personalized, hands-on course that will teach you the finer points of AdWords management. As with all of our courses, you will run real ads for your organization or a local partner organization.

Learning Objectives:

  • Advanced Editing Techniques – leverage the AdWords Editor to make mass edits to your campaigns, keywords, ad groups, and ad copy.
  • Advanced Analytics & Reporting – leverage Google Data Studio to compile cloud-based, real-time metrics and reports.
  • Attribution Tracking – learn how to track if your ads influenced an interaction or conversion at a later date/time even if they didn’t result in a click.
  • Campaign Optimization – learn how to reduce your ad spend while increasing your click through and conversion rates.

PREREQUISITE: AdWords 101, or passing score on the Google AdWords Fundamentals exam
